OK, we understand Thanksgiving seems like a true bummer this season. With many state and national authorities discouraging traveling and parties due to COVID-19, it is still another holiday in a lengthy sequence of holidays we’ve been compelled to”celebrate” in quarantine.
But even though you are not performing a 20-person disperse (appropriate??) , that does not mean that you should give up on Thanksgiving altogether. In fact, isn’t half the fun of the vacation taking photos of the gorgeous presentation of food on your own table and submitting them for everyone to admire?
That is why this week–within our regular series of trending decor on Instagram–we chose to focus on the dining room for a few design inspirations.
So don’t allow the size of your party to get you down this year. These popular looks are certain to make your dining room Instagram-worthy, no matter who’s sitting around the table.
1. Organic-inspired chandeliers
Nothing makes a room stand out like a statement light fixture, especially if we are talking about this chandelier featured by @june.and.blue.
“Organic-inspired light fixtures are a popular choice because of their contours, color tones, and handmade aesthetics,” states Kobi Karp of Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design.
2. Southwest-style rugs
You may not be able to travel anywhere this Thanksgiving–but you can certainly feel like you did with a gorgeous Southwest-style rug, such as the one in this photograph from @carlanatalia__.
“Southwest-style rugs are popular for their ability to easily match almost any decor or aesthetic,” says Karp.
“These carpets, with their varying graphics, help make a whole universe of their own while helping to showcase the furniture inside the region. They are also a surefire way to add color and texture into the dining space, anchor the room, and layer the room’s decor,” adds Karp.
3. Cozy armchairs
Holiday dinners mean more time spent at the dining table, which explains why it’s essential to have seating that is both stylish and comfortable. Input these elegant and cozy dining armchairs showcased by @oakhomeinteriors.
“These Chesterfield-inspired armchairs are a great way to add some formality and flair to distance,” says Ash Read of Living Cozy.
“The Chesterfield style is classic, and the tufted design using a soft, comfy fabric makes these chairs a beautiful addition and work well in the center of a room where they can capture the attention they deserve,” says Read.
4. Whimsical wallpaper
Want a fast and effortless upgrade for your dining room this season?
“Whimsical wallpapers are a quick and cost-effective approach to actually change a room,” says Karp.
“They’re decor that delivers both form and function, and they are also an easy way to add character to space and make it feel like your own, without taking up any outside space,” adds Karp.
Not into a wallpaper? Just as quick and no less magnificent are these gold LED ring lights, which will bring not just form and function but also a heightened awareness of luxury into your own space
5. Farmhouse dining table
If it’s the major event that requires replacing, then we have got the perfect solution: a traditional farmhouse table like this one featured by @klinteriors.
“Farmhouse dining tables offer a laidback feel and are a basic piece of furniture for people that love country motifs,” says Karp. “They celebrate rustic materials and are intended to ground the space as family-friendly and approachable, which makes it perfectly ideal for contemporary industrial and country-styled homes”
Plus: “Farmhouse house decoration is an exceptionally popular decorating style at this time, which means it’s easier than ever to find the perfect table,” Karp adds.
