How to decorate your home with holiday souvenirs?

Of course, we are aware of all the restrictions and impediments to travel. But perhaps there is one lucky reader among our readers who have just returned from holiday and has managed to bring home some holiday souvenirs.

When we return from holiday, we want to take something special with us to have a substitute for that place at home. This is completely normal. People like to surround themselves with little things that still make them happy and put a smile on their face.

Let’s not forget, however, that we can easily overdo it and make quite a mess, and it will start to resemble hoarding rather than a tastefully decorated flat.

The first, probably the most frequently brought things, are famous products, handicrafts originating from a given country. These can include dishes (bowls, vases, ashtrays – perfect for smokers, figurines or interesting clothes, backpacks, bags).

I love leather flap bags, handmade. They are comfortable and great for trips when we travel with a backpack. Wallets are also welcome – for coins, even our own.

The second important, and I would even say the most important, thing is photos! Well, we have such a strong desire to capture every moment on holiday and every single thing we meet. In fact, we see less in reality because we keep taking pictures.

Then, unfortunately, you have to dig through a million photos (of lawns, flowers, a lizard, a bench, white sand) to find that really beautiful and suitable photo to put on, for example, a wall.

A photo wall may sound quite trivial, but believe me, it is not a simple matter to do it well and with taste!

If you want a wall with photos, you need some frames. And not just any frames, because they are holiday-themed and come in different sizes and shapes.
Apart from the wall, we can also decorate our furniture with a beautiful vase or a bowl.

I’ve recently come to the conclusion that if I’m going to bring something back from holidays, let it be useful on a daily basis. Dishes for the kitchen. How’s that for me? A great idea. Especially if you like to cook.

I even recently brought back a shell that is shaped like a teaspoon and put it in a container with salt.

And then there are the famous spices from the country. After all, it goes without saying that we bring the local flavours with us. Especially when they appeal to us.
Thailand probably has the most delicious flavours in the world!

As well as such goodies, it’s worth trying out body products, like coconut oil and naturally made cosmetics.

Let us know what you bring back and what ideas you have for souvenirs.
