Do you sometimes wonder how others do it, that they fit in with everything and don’t have a bigger house than you? They have, like, everything more arranged and everything has its place – you know that? It is not just that it looks beautiful, but above all, it is much easier to live there. I have decided to write an attitude about it because I know from your news that you have to deal with it more than once. Aesthetic value is one thing and functional value is another – everything can be reconciled! Of course!

Shutters in the hallway

One of the best ways of arranging storage space in a small flat is with built-in wardrobes. If you choose a shutter, you will additionally gain a decorative aspect which will match the other accessories in the arrangement, e.g. in modern or Scandinavian style. In small interiors there is always a value going up – in built-in shutters, you can fit a lot of things, e.g. at the top you can bury your winter/summer clothes depending on the season, and at the lower end, you can fit your current wardrobe parts or accessories. This keeps everything hidden and the interior tidy. I have it myself and recommend it 100%. You can also buy wardrobes (recesses) from the nets and order fronts from a carpenter if you want to save money. The necessary masks will be made by a carpenter!

Stuccowork in a narrow hallway

If you are looking for an idea to decorate a space, but you are afraid that chests of drawers with vases, figures or souvenirs will take up too much space – it is always worth to bet on wall decoration 🙂 Reliable here are photos and graphics, e.g. popular typography, favourite posters in matching colour frames etc… Besides, it’s worth to go a little further in arranging art and decorate the wall with stucco! It’s quite a simple but very impressive idea, which does not limit the narrow space in the hallway, but definitely decorates the entrance to the house 🙂 You don’t have to buy them, you can make them from slats.

Cabinets in the wall

Wardrobes hidden in the wall are also a clever idea in the arrangement of a small interior. Just like ceiling shutters, they can hold a lot of things and do not protrude like traditional free-standing furniture. When they are integrated into space in this way, it makes a very harmonious impression and visually seems to be a lighter solution than objects that are attached to walls. You can paint your built-in wardrobes to the colour of the wall, or you can just distinguish them with a different shade – then they will additionally play a decorative role 🙂 Definitely loving it!

Glazing

In every flat – large and small – it is worth using glazing. It can be the whole wall, or at least a fragment of it or a panel that separates two zones. Thanks to the glasses, additional light comes into the room in-depth, which optically enlarges the space. And it seems to us that such flats are really bigger.

Cabinets upwards with open shelves

Cabinets and cupboards that reach up to the ceiling are a great way to make maximum use of space, especially in small flats. However, so that the arrangement does not look too hard, it is worth to bet on open shelves in such a set.  A closed kitchen cupboard in combination with wine compartments goes well and adds lightness to the interior while making full use of the space.

Home office in a small flat

If you have to arrange a place to work, but the flat is small and there is no extra room for it, then, of course, there are ways to do that. A home office is a sign of our times. You have to use what is 🙂 To do this it is worth to separate the space in colour, e.g. in a corner of the living room, and create a small corner of the home office there. A light desk, a shelf for documents and a simple chair should be enough for everyday learning or working with a computer.
