Tamara von Nayhauss, star of German television, invited us to her family home to discover the true magic of Christmas together with the RusticModernFurniture brand.
Christmas climate in a few steps
The long table shimmers with elegant shades of silver and white. In addition, a lot of delicate candlelight and a charming decoration with silver deer in the main role.
– I love it when the house feels like it’s hugging me during Advent! I like to decorate the whole house with candles, soft cushions with the addition of festive, classic red and glittering glitter,” says Tamara.
A living Christmas tree dressed in red ornaments
The Christmas tree is not big, although the room would allow it – it is simply that Tamara prefers a tree that comes from sustainable, organic farming.
As with decoration, Tamara remains true to tradition when it comes to invitations as well and always sends handwritten greeting cards to her relatives and friends. She likes to sit down comfortably at her desk in the home library. The library, just like the whole house, is beautifully decorated with lots of Christmas decorations. There are so many decorations that Tamara keeps these ornaments in as many as eight huge boxes outside the Christmas season.
Christmas table decoration with tableware and chandeliers
According to Tamara, Christmas colours are classics – red, green, white and silver. Here, everything has been chosen to make up for tradition.
All year-round, the presenter waits impatiently to unpack all the decorations during Advent and change her home for this magical time of year. There is nothing more important to her than a joyful Christmas atmosphere, everything else is secondary to the presenter. Thanks to fresh fir twigs and seasonal fruit, her long wooden table turns into a festive landscape and small gifts for guests, such as small baubles, remind us of this beautiful evening for a long time afterwards.
Christmas Girlanda on the stairs
The presenter has so many Christmas decorations that she keeps them in as many as eight boxes per year. A golden tip for Christmas – relax!
When the hostess is relaxed, so do the guests – that’s the golden rule Tamara follows. So she always spends a few minutes before the Christmas party starts. She prefers her winter garden, which she styles according to the season. In winter there are always cosy fabrics, soft light and icy blue. Here, Tamara enjoys the view from windows that reach from floor to ceiling.
Christmas decorations for Christmas tree and table
Tamara loves the atmospheric climate. There is no shortage of warm lamplight and flickering candles in her house. After relaxing, it’s time to prepare the food and set the table and then, of course, it’s time to change clothes. For this purpose, the presenter visits her wardrobe upstairs, which combines the charm of retro with the cosiness of velvet. For Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner, our style expert prefers red or something shiny.
Furniture in an eclectic style
The Tamara House surprises with interesting combinations. Everything has its place here so that both family and friends feel good. After the Christmas Eve dinner, Tamara invites her guests to the lounge for an espresso and gingerbread. Here modern furniture, such as a marble table, meets with classic family souvenirs. According to the presenter, the interior should tell a story and not look like a stylish showroom.
A room decorated in white with lots of light
The winter playroom impresses with its “ice” colours. Here, everything is designed with the idea of calm and relaxation in mind.
– My tip for a successful evening: If the hostess is in a good mood, the guests also feel more relaxed. To put everyone in a good mood, I put the whole house in a beautiful light and decorate every room. I also remember the right scent! When the interior of the house smells of cinnamon and vanilla croissants, the excitement of the upcoming Christmas is growing! – Tamara is happy to say.
